How to connect Guardian™ Connect to InPen:
- Make sure you are running the latest version of the InPen app
- Open the InPen app
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Medtronic
- Tap Continue
- Login to your Medtronic account
- When you arrive at the confirmation screen, tap Done
How to connect Dexcom® G5/Dexcom® G6 to InPen:
Note: There will be a 3-hour delay with visualizing your Dexcom CGM data in the InPen app.
- Open the InPen app
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Dexcom
- Login to your Dexcom account
- When you arrive at the confirmation screen, tap Done
How to connect Dexcom® G7 to InPen on iOS through Apple Health®:
Note: InPen is not yet compatible with Dexcom® G7 on Android.
For users on iOS, follow these steps to see CGM data from Dexcom G7:
Step 1: Disable connection to Dexcom in the InPen app:
- Open the InPen app
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Dexcom
- Tap Disconnect
Step 2: Enable InPen to read glucose from Apple Health:
- Open the InPen app
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Apple Health
- Tap Connect to Health
- Tap Turn On All
- Tap Allow in the top right corner
Step 3: Enable Dexcom G7 to write glucose to Apple Health:
- Open the Dexcom G7 app
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Apple Health
- Tap Activate
- Tap Turn On All
- Tap Allow
If your blood glucose meter is Bluetooth-compatible and you use an Apple device, you can connect your meter to the InPen app. This will make your BG data visible in the InPen app.
We do not currently offer any glucose meter integrations if you are using an Android™ device.
InPen currently supports the following glucose meters through Apple Health:

The InPen app integrates directly with the Guardian™ Connect CGM. When used together, your real-time glucose readings from Guardian™ Connect app will appear in the InPen app. Data may not appear or be delayed in certain instances, including when there is no internet connection.
The InPen app is compatible with Dexcom® G5/Dexcom® G6 for iOS and Android. There is currently a 3-hour delay with visualizing your Dexcom CGM data in the InPen app.
Note: InPen is currently compatible with Dexcom G7 for iOS only through Apple Health Kit.
How to connect Dexcom® G5/Dexcom® G6 to InPen:
- Open the InPen app
- Tap Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap Dexcom
- Login to your Dexcom account
- When you arrive at the confirmation screen, tap Done
- Follow the same steps to connect to Dexcom CLARITY* by choosing the CLARITY icon in settings.
*Note: This feature is only available on devices with Applie iOS™.
How to connect Dexcom® G7 to InPen on iOS through Apple Health®:
Note: InPen is not yet compatible with Dexcom® G7 on Android.

InPen is compatible with devices that meet the following minimum requirements:
Apple
- Devices with iOS™ 10 and higher
Android™
- Devices with Android™ Operating System 6.0 and greater
- Devices with screen resolution 720×1280 and greater
- Tablets are not supported
How can I determine if my Android™ phone is compatible?
On your Android™ device, visit Google Play Store. If the InPen app is visible in the Play Store, install it. If the InPen app is not visible in the Play Store, the device does not meet minimum requirements to install the app.
Once app is installed, Open the InPen App. Upon opening the app, it will check to make sure the screen resolution meets minimum requirements.
If you are presented with a login screen, the app is ready for use.
Note: The following device(s) are not compatible with the InPen App: LG Stylo
Note: Google Pixel™ 4 and 5 users running Android™ OS 13 may be required to reboot their phone when pairing a new InPen. If you have any issues pairing InPen to your InPen app, please contact Medtronic 24-hour technical support at 1-800-284-4416, option 1.
Note: Bluetooth®performance varies due to differences in phone hardware and operating systems. The InPen App is not recommended on Jailbroken or Rooted devices.

No, the LG Stylo is not currently compatible with the InPen app.

To ensure the InPen can communicate to your Android™ device consistently, the location permissions need to be set correctly. Follow the steps below to set your location permissions to prevent any communication issues.
Disclaimer: Medtronic does not track your location. Location settings must be enabled in order for the Phone/App and the InPen to communicate via Bluetooth.
Android™ 10
Step 1 - Open your phone Settings app, select "Apps", then tap on the InPen app (Listed in Alphabetical Order)
Step 2 - Tap on the "Permissions" section
Step 3 - Tap on the “Location” permission
Step 4 - Set permission to “Allow all the time”
Setting the Location permission while pairing for the first time:
If the previous steps don't match your phone settings, you may be on an older version of Android™ and can follow the directions below.
Android™ 9 and older
Step 1 - Open your phone Settings app, select "Apps", then tap on the InPen app (Listed in Alphabetical Order)
Step 2 - Enable the “Location” permission by turning the switch ON
